I am currently learning in a Surrey elementary school, in a grade 1/2 classroom. My students are young, passionate and curious. I love to be a facilitator of learning and provide as many opportunities as I can for them to become more aware, excited and passionate about their world.
I am learning about technology and how I can use it more effectively in my classroom. I have taken personal risks and challenges and have loved the outcome it’s brought this year. I have embraced an attitude shift, when it comes to technology, and we have just completed our first “I Wonder” project. “I Wonder” came from the concept of Genius Hour but adapted for my grade level. I have not seen this depth and excitement of individual learning with this age group in a long time. I’m infused with passion and excitement and my students are too!
Days are flying by, there is never enough time and I am hearing more and more frequently, “I don’t want to go home, I’m not done learning.” Music to my ears.
